How and when did you start training?

When I was a kid my older brother had a subscription to Men’s Fitness. I remember looking through the magazines and knowing from a young age I wanted to start working out. My first job as a college freshman I worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA. I took the job mainly because it came with a free gym membership so I could start working out. I was instantly hooked, and haven’t stopped since.

How do you manage to stay motivated and consistent?

When you love to train and it is the highlight of each day, motivation comes naturally.

How long do you usually spend in the gym?

45-90 minutes.

What is your diet when trying to get in peak condition?

 

 

Meal 1:

-1 cup oatmeal
-1/4 cup fat free cottage cheese
-1.5 scoop whey protein
-20 oz green tea

 

Meal 2:

-1/2 cup oatmeal
-3 oz chicken
-Vegetables
-20 oz green tea

 

Meal 3:

-6 oz chicken
-5 oz yam
-Vegetables
-20 oz green tea

 

Meal 4: (Pre-Workout)

-1 scoop whey protein
-1 cup grape juice

 

Meal: 5 (Post-Workout)

-1.5 scoop whey protein
-1 scoop waxy maize

 

Meal: 6

-6 oz chicken
-5 oz yam
-Vegetables
-20 green tea

 

Meal 7:

-3 oz chicken
-vegetables
-20 oz green tea

 

Meal 8:

-1 scoop casein protein
-1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese

Do you count calories or weight your food?

It depends upon my goal at that time. If I need to be at a certain weight or look for a scheduled event I keep a much closer eye on the numbers.

How do you deal with cravings for junk foods,
sweets and salty food?

There are so many amazing tasting healthy food options out there today; junk food cravings are not even an issue anymore. By substituting ingredients you can make healthy foods that taste much better than any junk food.

What is your greatest bodybuilding/
fitness achievement so far?

Competing in the 2011 Body Space Spokes Model Search.

What are your future goals?

I’m currently in the process of getting certified as a personal trainer. I would also like to start competing in the new NPC Men’s Physique Division.

If you could have one superpower what would
it be and why?

I would have to go with the ability to read people’s mind. I love knowing how people really feel.

What is the number one philosophy you live by?

Control your mind, control your life.
