CutAndJacked.com Interview:

Michelle Parish

How and when did you start training?

I started  around February of 09. I was having self esteem issues because I was modeling and after every photoshoot I just felt fat. Technically Photoshop could fix it but I knew I would never make a career out of it if I needed that much work. I was inspired by Jamie Eason to do fitness modeling. So I decided to enter a competition that May. I started training with my first trainer in March and I got addicted!

In regards to weight training, can you give us an overview of a typical week?

I workout probably 6 out of 7 days. My rest day varies with my schedule. I do back and arms, chest and shoulders, then legs on their own day. Then repeat. After the second go round I have a rest day, sometimes in between. I run a mile before every workout and then I hit the weights. When I lift, I just do whatever needs to be done for individual bodyparts. I always lift heavy but reps vary depending on whether I'm happy with the size of certain muscles. I do more for my legs because I need to lean out. I have been doing less for back and shoulders because they are...distractingly dominant at this point. Too many lat pull downs and clean & presses, but hey I’m not complaining!

How much and what types of cardio do you do?

I don't do a lot of cardio right now. Honestly I just don't like it and I find that if I run a mile before every workout, eat clean 24/7, and work hard with the weights, I see gradually equal results.

What are the contents of your fridge?

Ugh, my fridge is so empty. It's just a freezer full of vegetables and fish. And the fridge just has egg whites, strawberry preserves, and almond butter.

Favourite cheat food?

Cookies and pastries. Hands down.

Who are your favorite figure competitors, athletes or fitness models?

I love Monica Brant. I think her body is so underrated. She is amazing. But I really love Amanda Latona and Erin Stern. Oh my favorite; Jaime Baird. Her attitude magnifies her physical perfection ten-fold.

What is your best body part?

I'd say..My back. I think I've got decent quads as well, but I'm gunna go with my back.

…And your best body part in a man?

I like a generally lean, toned physique and proportional distribution. I hate dudes that bench all day and never squat. They look like they're gunna fall over. And I'm not a fan of the fat boys who think they're buff. lol No, but deep down, I'm not too picky. I can look past anything if you make me laugh.

What is the number one philosophy you live by?

Do unto others as you would have done unto you. I really just believe in living right and doing what you know you should no matter what. I just really try to be a good person because I think it's the most admirable quality. Anything that’s good about me physically compares very little to the quality of my character and the size of my heart. That goes for anyone.

What tips would you give to any woman wanting to get a feminine, CutandJacked physique like yours?

Honestly, don't give up.Learn learn learn and don't give up. It's taken me forever and I'm still not fully satisfied but you've got your whole life ahead of you. It's better to try than to not do anything at all because over time you will see results with consistency. Just take it slow and pump yourself up with positive thoughts. The only advantage I have ever had over any other girl and they are always so pretty and better shaped, is my unbreakable spirit. I won't give up and I fight hard to keep a good attitude. That's the only way I was able to stick it out. You might have 10000000 steps to take in your journey but the only one that really matters is the one you're taking right now.
