 How/when did you get started training?

Since very young I’ve been in love with sports in general and this fit lifestyle.
So, I can probably say that mostly all my life I have been training (either in the gym or doing a specific sport for example Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, that is a passion of mine and in which I’m a brown belt.

You are one of the most popular and well-known women in the fitness industry, what advice would you give to an aspiring model or athlete trying
to succeed in this industry?

Thank you for the kind words.. I would say that definitely patience and hard work are your best allies, if you keep trying while always keeping your eyes on your goals your time will certainly come sooner or later. You have to think of that perfect moment, it will give you the drive.
Doing what we love is half way to succeed. Never forget that, always smile and enjoy life.

Do you listen to music whilst you train?

Yes, I love music, I can’t go anywhere without it, specially training!

How many tattoos do you have? Are you planning
on getting any more?

I have 9 tattoos at the moment. While not planning to get more soon, we never know. :)

How do you stay motivated?

My motivation is the people who support me, the positive energy and love that they all give me, it refuels my strength totally, I even call it my secret weapon. :)
My family, my friends, fans and sponsors, a HUGE thank you!!
That and my never give up attitude,… it’s all I need to keep going!

What types of cardio have worked best for you?

I like to change my cardio, sometimes I do Stairmaster, elliptical, treadmill or even free running and boxing. I like to change the intensity too, between high to moderate.
Also for some time now I have added Hot Yoga, which can be considered an aerobic exercise, while also helps with water retention (amazing for pre-contest) and relaxation! Go try it! :)

Tell us a little about your clothing line ‘Hardcoreis’.

It’s very recent and it was in the works for some time.
I always had great success and demand with my merchandise t-shirts so I wanted to continue my dream and mission of spreading my message of world peace to everywhere and everybody along with my way of living.

So to those who follow me and live by the same style and code, hardcore, and have the never give up attitude like I do… I created Hardcoreis!

It’s much more than a brand, a true way of living… whose principles (my principles) defend Larissa_reis_q1.pngthat we must fight for our dreams and our goals, even if we have to stand-alone.
We must never back down from anyone or anything!
And we must defy ourselves, defying any odds. Everything is possible, so we must believe to achieve!  It can be used by everyone, and the magic is that it fits great in both ways, as working out clothing and even to go out! Very, very stylish!

What does your diet consist of?

I like to do 5-6 small portion meals, always containing protein from different sources (ex. Lean turkey, chicken breast, tilapia, etc.), veggies (ex. Asparagus, broccoli, green beans), healthy fats (ex. Almonds) and in some of them I add low glycemic carbohydrates (ex. Sweet potato, oats, brown rice).
I like to eat clean almost year round, as you all may know.

You have worked with some great photographers and have great photos, what advice would you give to a fitness model trying to get the
best out of a photoshoot?

I love photography and I am very grateful for working with so many great artists.
Every photo shoot is a dream come true for me.

I really think of it as a form of art, which it is and which I’m very passionate about.
My advice would be that firstly for you to think that too and to have that small notion.
Then free yourself, be different… Imagine that you are on a different world, your world, where you can be anything you desire.
Seek deep inside, you will find what I am talking about.
Love what you do and do what you love and the rest will follow.

How do you deal with cravings for junk food,sweets and salty food?

I never add extra salt to my food, I haven’t liked it for a very long time.
As far as dealing with cravings I think the real trick is doing tasty food, you will forget the rest and be satiated.

Of course on my off-season I like to have a treat here and there, but that’s it.

What are your top 3 favorite exercises?

I like a lot of exercises! But I will say Squats, Glute Kickbacks and Tricep Pushdowns.


What is your training routine like?

I have to remember everyone that this routine is what works the best for me, so it may not be ideal for another person. We must study and understand our bodies very well to know what to choose and to do.

An example for 1 week of my training routine:

Day 1: Legs/Calves/Glutes and 1 hour and half of cardio later;
Day 2: Hot Yoga - 90min and 45 min of cardio later;
Day 3: Shoulders/Chest/Triceps and 1 hour and half of cardio;
Day 4: Hot Yoga - 90min and 45 min of cardio;
Day 5: Back/Lower Back/Biceps and 1 hour and half of cardio later;
Day 6: Hot Yoga - 90min and 45 min of cardio later;
Day 7: OFF

Do you set short and long term goals?

I always defend that setting shorter goals is better, because they will give us little rewards every now and then and will make us happier in the long term.

I am so grateful for being able to live my dream life and for everything that I have conquered so far, I just want it to continue that way, spreading my message of world peace and love worldwide, while representing all the people who support me and believe in my work, my family, my friends, fans and my sponsors the best I can.Larissa_reis_scr9.jpg

What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of everything that I have achieved, my pro status, being the first Brazilian athlete ever winning a pro show in the U.S.A, achieving sponsors with my hard work and effort. I am also very proud to have the best fans in the world, a family and friends that support me 100% everyday.

I am very happy and proud also for having successfully moved to the U.S.A, and being able to do what I love the most in life. I couldn’t ask for more..! :)

How do you measure your progress?

In my honest opinion there is no better way for measuring the progress and the differences for our bodies than the mirror. It’s my choice without any doubt. It shows me where I need attention, where I need to improve, everything. If you try you will instantly agree with me.

Who are your favorite, athletes or fitness models?

All athletes inspire me in different ways, but I can say I have a few favorites, for example my teammates, Nathalia Melo, Stephanie Mahoe and Zack ‘King’ Khan.
Also my friend Oksana Grishina and Monica Brant, for all her achievements.

What supplements would you use/recommend if any?

I use the Nutrex Research products, they have become a staple for me.

Muscle Infusion as my Protein, it’s delicious and it contains 7 different sources of protein;
BCAA Drive and Defy as my amino acids, mainly to preserve muscle mass (anti-catabolic) and to help with recovery;

Pre-workout I use the Hemo-Rage UC / TurboShots for the extra focus and energy, it really takes our workout session to a whole new level.

When I am preparing for a competition I prefer to use Lipo 6 UC, because it really helps me get closer to my goal, being as lean as possible while maintaining my good mood and energy during the day (which is essential and very difficult at that time)!

Finally on my off-season I like to add Volu-Gro and/or Creatine Drive to my post-workout shake.

What 3 tips would you give to any woman wanting to get a feminine, CutandJacked physique like yours?

Never underestimate the diet, it’s probably the most important thing ever.
Don’t let it get flavorless or boring, try new seasonings, new mixes, new ideas that will make it easier and very enjoyable when on pre-contest.

Don’t be afraid of doing regular weight training sessions, it will only help with the results, making them faster and better!

Finally surround yourself with positive people, search for your inspiration, music, athletes, dreams, all that drives you and have patience, never take your eyes of your goal, fight hard for it! The results will come.
They are simple tips, but they can make a difference from day to night.
