IFBB Pro Oksana Grishina

Are you or have you ever been a cardio bunny and avoided the free-weight section?

I never was afraid of working out with weights. In Russia I was an aerobics instructor and so many women were afraid to work out with weights, because they didn’t want to get bigger. But weights aren’t just about getting bigger.

How long do you spend in the gym during a typical workout?

About 1.5 hours.

Do you listen to music whilst you train?

I listen to my body, not to music.

What are you most proud of?

Helping people to reach their goals, in fitness or in life, is what makes me most proud.

What’s the longest break you’ve had from training?

I never take a break.

Have you had any obstacles or setbacks towards achieving your goal physique?

Training for fitness competition is very hard on the body, especially when dieting. The required exercises are difficult and can be dangerous, so injuries are common for fitness competitors. These are the challenges we face regularly, but they do not stop us.

We know consistency is key, what tips would you give to anyone struggling to stay consistent?

Make a goal. Be brave and strong in pursuit of your goal.
Be a fighter for what you want and never give up.

How do you deal with cravings for junk foods,
sweets and salty food?

Honestly, when I am in off-season I don’t really like sweets so much. But, of course, when dieting, I eat sweet foods in my dreams and wake up full.

Who are your favourite, athletes or fitness models?

Monica Brant was always my favorite fitness model and a role model for me. Of course, there are many great athletes, and I am so proud that when I got to the professional stage I was able to meet women I admired from afar in Russia, like Jenny Hendershott , Adela Garcia, Kim Klein, Tracey Greenwood!!

What types of cardio have worked best for you?

Any type of cardio is good for any body. I use the treadmill, bicycle and elliptical trainer, but these all do the same thing. Changing equipment just helps to keep me from getting bored.

What is your training routine like?

I work out six days a week. I alternate gym and performance workouts through the week. I do cardio twice each day, before breakfast and in the evening.

What does your diet consist of?

These are the basics:
Protein: Fish, Chicken and Eggs
Carbs: Potatoes and Rice
Fat: Peanut Butter, Almonds, Avocado
Fruit: Apples, Oranges, Grapefruit
Lots of Vegetable: Lettuce, Cucumber, Tomato, Onions, Garlic, Asparagus

What supplements would you use/recommend if any?

I am sponsored by Gaspari Nutrition and use their products. I love them and would use them even if I were not part of Team Gaspari. All their supplements work for me.
I use Amino Acids to prep my muscles for workouts, Phenorex for fat loss, Anavite for vitamins, SizeOn Pre-Contest for pre-workout energy, IntraPro and MyoFusion Protein for muscle recovery and growth. These are not just for contest prep. This support is important year-round for energy, fat loss, muscle recovery, and growth.

What tips would you give to any woman wanting to get a feminine, CutandJacked physique like yours?

All women are beautiful with unique bodies and personalities. Work hard, believe in yourself, make the most of what you have and be happy with it.
