Chris McAllister-Norman

How and when did you start training?

I didn't start seriously training until 2007-2008ish.

What mistakes did you make as a newbie?

Pretty much everything from over training to not using full range of motion. Also training too many body parts and focusing on certain body parts more than others.

We know consistency is key, what tips would you
give to anyone struggling to stay consistent?

Just stay focused. Everyone hits walls and can find it hard to stay consistent with what they are doing. Personally I use videos from Youtube, mainly motivational videos for bodybuilding.

Do you listen to music whilst training?

Mostly rap, some rock and metal. The 3 songs I seem to listen to repeatability right now would be Yelawolf- Lets Roll, Rammstein-Zerstoren and Tech N9ne-World wide choppers.

What do you think about when you have to
dig deep and push out that last rep?

I have to do this, I’ve got to do this!

Free weights vs machines what do you feel are the
pros and cons of both and which do you prefer?

I actually use both in the off-season and during prep mode. Pros of the machines would be less injuries and more isolation whereas free weights for size and strength.

What are you most proud of?

That would have to be getting the guts to actually step on stage finally. It was probably the scariest and best time of my life.

Do you bulk and cut or stay lean year round?

Right now I am bulking then cutting. After my two shows in June I will be doing a lean bulk for about a year and a half before I decide to step on stage again.

What types of cardio do you do?

Right now I do none. During contest prep its mainly
High intensity training and ab circuits.

What is your training routine like?

My routine changes weekly. I only do one body part a day and I will take 1-2 days off after 5 days of training. Rep range is usually around 6-15 depending on the muscle group with around 4-8 sets. I do a lot of the basic exercises nothing really unique or special when it comes to it. I find the basic movements work.

What is your diet when trying to
get in peak condition?

During my last prep I would eat:

Meal 1: 2.5 oz of oatmeal with 10 egg whites and 1 tbs of flax oil.

Meal 2
Meal 3: 150 grams of chicken and 1 cup of cooked white rice.

Meal 4
Meal 5: 150 grams of chicken and 200 grams of green veggies.

Who are your favourite athletes, bodybuilders
or fitness models?

Athletes: Mike Tyson, George St.pierre.

Bodybuilders: Frank Zane, Franco Columbu, Lee Priest, Phil Heath, Kai Greene, Flex Lewis and Kevin Levrone.

What supplements do you use if any?

Right now I am using Super Pump Mac and Scivation xtend.

What top 3 tips would you give to anyone
wanting to get CutAndJacked?

1. Stay focused.
2. Do it for yourself and no one else.
3. Push yourself to your limit.
