I have always lived an active lifestyle by taking part in numerous sports at a young age. I was introduced to the fitness world and weight lifting in January of 2012. I became hooked! I loved knowing that I could sculpt and shape my body through training and healthy eating.
My love for fitness, coupled with my energetic and outgoing personality, led me to compete in my first show in June 2012, WBFF Eastern Championship in Boston, MA where I placed second out of 35 women in my class.
One year later, I competed in that same show in June of 2013 and placed first out of 50 women and won my Professional Status with the WBFF! Now fitness is my life – I eat, sleep and breathe it!
I am a self-motivated person and keep my mind focused. I constantly set goals for myself - I write, define and continuously revisit my goals. Nothing is more motivating than meeting or exceeding a goal!
My followers and fans keep me motivated as well. Repeatedly being called a “motivation” and “inspiring” is truly amazing! It is remarkable that I can help others by doing something I do every day!
I like HIIT cardio: 15-20 minute routines. I usually mix up Plyometric routines, like jump squats and box jumps, with sprints on the treadmill or bike. I like to do exercises that make me sweat and keep my heart rate up!
Lime Chicken Lettuce Bowl: It is spicy, lime-flavored chicken over a bowl of lettuce, brown rice, organic salsa, cucumbers, and black beans. It is extremely filling and very delicious! It’s like a healthy spin on a burrito!
I eat 6-7 meals a day, and each meal consists of a protein, carbohydrate and vegetables.
Some food staples: Chicken, Tilapia, Ground Turkey, Sweet Potato, Oatmeal, Brown Rice, Green Beans, Asparagus, Celery, Spinach, Almonds & Almond Butter.
I truly believe moderation is key. When you give your body a treat here and there, cravings aren’t an issue. However, during competition prep my go-to is coffee. I am a flavored coffee fanatic! I think I have about 30 different coffee flavors in my house that I have collected over the year and a half I have been competing.
I love music! I typically listen to everything, but when I train I listen to Dubstep, Rap & Techno. It keeps me motivated and focused during my workouts.
My recent goal was to compete in the WBFF World Championships in Las Vegas as a Fitness Model Pro! I have successfully done that this past August.
My long-term goal is to compete again in 2014 in Las Vegas for the WBFF World Championship and place within the top 5! I know I have the drive and motivation to achieve anything I want in life!
Also, I want to be featured on a cover of a fitness magazine and to be able to spread my knowledge and inspire others across the world!
Winning my Pro Card and competing in the WBFF World Championships! I have only been training and competing for 1 year; so to see how far I’ve come in a year is remarkable!
After my first show in June 2012, I was scheduled for umbilical hernia surgery. I was unable to train for 8 weeks and had serious complications, including allergies to medications I was given for pain.
I still was determined to compete in November in the WBFF New England Fitness Weekend, and with only 7 weeks to prepare and train, I competed and placed 4th out of 60 girls from across the nation.
Obstacles are only bumps in the road! There are no dead ends!
I look at myself and take photos of my progress especially during show preparation. It is nice to see your physical progress measured and documented!
The women that inspire me are now the women I am honored to say I compete against, like Jen Jewell, Andreia Brazier, and Julie Bonnett! Also, Larissa Reis, Monica Brant, Chady Dunmore, Amanda Latona, and Dana Linn Bailey.
Multi-vitamin, BCAAs, Fish Oil, Whey Isolate Protein.
....One final tip – surround yourself with positivity. Find people or places that instill a positive atmosphere. It is much easier to achieve a goal or dream when you are in the right mindset and have the support from those around you!
Thank you Rolsey and CutAndJacked for this opportunity! It is amazing to be featured among so many inspiring people. I am blessed to be able to spread my story and hope that I can inspire others.
