I’ve been training for as long as I can remember… Whilst in school I used to compete in athletics, most memorably sprinting. From here I went on to be an avid cardio queen! I used to spend hours doing cardio in the gym.. Until 2003 when I trained as a Personal Trainer. After this I began to concentrate on weight training! So, I suppose in all I’ve been training with weights for about 8 years.
This changes very regularly depending on what stage I’m at in my training... at the moment I’ve just altered my training and I’ve started to increase my cardio sessions whilst increasing the intensity of my weight training. In terms of weights I am prioritizing my legs, particularly my quads to ensure they remain full and shapely. I split my quad and hamstring workout, and sometimes have additional glute training sessions. I have brought a little more width to my back as I lost a lot of muscle early in 2010…. So I have a single session for my back. I then have a short session focusing on my arms and shoulders.
I tend to prefer power walking and cross training… I rarely participate in classes although occasionally I will try one!
At the moment I’m doing around 40 minutes of cardio a day… I have just increased it.
Ooh!
Well… Eggs, cartons of egg whites, salad, tomatoes, skimmed milk, beetroot, chicken, turkey, some sort of fish… haddock, salmon, tilapia.. bread (yes bread!), rice (normally cooked up and stored), spinach.
I suppose that’s about it! I normally have low fat yogurt in my fridge during the off season, yum!
Egg whites and spinach... I enjoy chicken too.
Curry!! Love it ☺
I am a fan of many athletes! Some of my favorites include: Larissa Reis, Oksana Grishina, Gina Allioti, Nina Moe, Rachael Grice, Malika Zitouni, Adela Garcia, Amanda Latona, Monica Brant.. I could go on ☺
Most people would say my shoulders!
Although… I prefer my back…
Back! Although I’m not keen on huge upper bodies and really small legs… I like symmetry!
I live by a few philosophies… some of which include:
