Do you remember the first time you
picked up a dumbbell?

Besides having one semester of weight training in high school…. I started lifting on January 7th 2010 at the age of 24

What mistakes did you make as a newbie?

Not paying attention to my whole physique for the first 6 months

How do you manage to stay motivated and consistent?

Stay lean year round so I always see improvement, it really keeps the fire burning

How do you feel about the new men's
physique division?

The Men’s Physique is a great addition to the NPC for the guys who just want an aesthetic look. Being in shape isn’t all about being super huge. Also making the look achievable for the average male.

What are you most proud of?

As lame as it sounds I’m proud of the gains I’ve made naturally in such a short time from a great diet and non-stop motivation. Top 5 Finalist in the 2011 Fitbody finals for bodybuilding.com

How long do you usually spend in the gym?

One hour and 45 minutes

What rep ranges do you prefer and why?

8-12 most days
I’ll have heavy days where I wont go over 5 reps to shock my body

What is your training routine like?

So I’ve been doing my best at following the level 2 program in the Arnold book and it’s working out great. Most people would call it over training but I’ve had no problems handling it really. Although I do change a few things round.

Monday
Workout 1 – Chest-upper concentration, Back, Legs-quads concentration

Tuesday
Workout 2 - Shoulder, Lower Back, Arms-Triceps concentration

Wednesday
Workout 1 – Chest-decline concentration, Back, Legs-hammies concentration

Thursday
Workout 2 - Shoulder, Lower Back, Arms- Bicep concentration

Friday
Workout 1 – Body weight day, cardio of some sort

Saturday
Workout 2 - Shoulder, Lower Back, Arms

Sunday Off

What is your diet when trying to get in peak condition?

Fish, Veggies, oats, chicken, ground turkey. Carbs before midday

How do you deal with cravings for junk foods,
sweets and salty food?

I have a cheat day that I deal with all of those issues ☺

What do you think about when you have to
dig deep and push out that last rep?

There is an Arnold video that always pops in my head when I feel like giving up.

Who are your favorites athletes, bodybuilders
or fitness models?

Ben Booker, Greg Pitt…. can you say motivation, Arnold of course, such an aesthetic look, he’s not all bulky like todays big fella’s

What are your future goals?

To just keep up what I’m doing and become a Men’s Physique pro cardholder.

  1. Diet, diet, diet- if it wasn’t grown on earth or in the seas don’t eat it.
  2. Start off with a short-term goal inside a much larger goal
  3. Stay focused, think about how you want to look and go for it.
