I have been an athlete all my life and training with weights has always been a part of my program. After college I became a certified personal trainer and focused on maintaining my physique as I was building a business. However, for the past couple of years I have been making more time to train and eat properly to motivate my clients and others around me. To me bodybuilding is all about making improvements. Last year alone with proper nutrition and strict workout plan I managed to put on 20 lbs. of lean mass.
Right now I am following a 10-day training split where you have each body part 2 times per 10days. I am also using methods such as trisets, supersets, drop sets, negatives, giant sets, rest pause, strip sets and such to keep tricking the muscles for optimum growth. I train everyday but I do make some days cardio only days to let the muscles recover properly.
As I get ready for a contest I will cut my carbs down to approx. 100 gr. a day and up my protein intake to 250 gr. My fat intake will not pass 40gr. And I do 20 minutes of cardio (HIIT) a day 12 weeks out of a competition or photo shoot.
During bulking periods I usually look forward to eating cheese pizza in rare occasion.
I stay motivated by looking forward to the improvements that I will be making. Also inspiring those around me gives me a great deal of motivation. Having people come up to me and ask me for advice is an honor and motivates me a lot.
I signed a contract with Adept Photography recently, I also competed last year in Muscle and Fitness Magazine Cover model search in Las Vegas during the Olympia Weekend and did very well. Also I actually just received an e-mail from PROLAB.COM Web Celeb contest that they narrowed it down to 2 finalists and I am in the running. I trained Teenage Mr. Minnesota 2010 (Zach Pecchia).
I am planning to keep improving and this summer 2011 I am planning to make that Muscle and Fitness Magazine cover model. Also I want to enter one bodybuilding competition in August before the Las Vegas show.
Arnold and Flex Wheeler always amazed me with their physiques. Small Waist Big V taper and arms!
Proper nutrition, know your body and do High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to burn more fat and not muscle. Eat enough protein. TRAIN HARD!
