What age did you start training?

I've always trained! Did hockey, Martial arts, and even as a kid I did push ups and curls at home. I joined my first gym just before turning 16! (I am 24yrs old).

We know consistency is key, what tips would you give to anyone struggling to stay consistent?

Stay motivated and fix short term and long-term goals! Make sure to stay focused on training and diet even in hard times. Usually the first thing people tend to drop when stressed out or busy, is nutrition and training. Make sure to really make both a part of your life.

Do you listen to music whilst training?

YES! I LISTEN TO MUSIC ALL THE TIME!

I listen to it when I TRAIN,COOK,DO CARDIO, RELAX, DRIVE, GO TO THE BATHROOM, DO THE GROCERIES… ALL THE TIME! EVEN WHEN I SLEEP!

Ok maybe not as much as I just said but I love music. Here are some bands that I like :

What do you think about when you have to
dig deep and push out that last rep?

There is always two voices when I train it seems. One says I did enough, then there is the other one reminding me there are others training out there probably as hard as me right now. So that voice tells me that I can do two more easy… so I do four. ☺

Away from bodybuilding do you have any hobbies?

I like watching movies. I watched like 3 old Steven Seagal movies recently. 'OUT FOR JUSTICE' is awesome haha… I also like the internet… video games… eating. I like eating alot. I do a party or two in the off-season ;)

Free weights vs machines what do you feel are the pros and cons of both and which do you prefer?

I like freeweights better. I feel they are more complete. I feel more manly doing them too. But machines are good to help you isolate a certain muscle group sometimes free weights can’t.

What are you most proud of?

My mom and my girlfriend.

Do you bulk and cut or stay lean year round?

I always bulked and cut but not because I wanted… If I eat what I want I gain fat easily. This year I will try to stay the leanest I have been. I do cardio 3 times week even though it’s off-season and eat really clean. But I will admit sometimes a cheeseburger or two…. Or three might slip in there lol…

What types of cardio do you do?

Pre-contest: 30min bike pre-breakfast… 30-45 min stepmill post workout.

Off-season: 20min inclined treadmill post workout.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Doing something that makes me happy.

What is your training routine like?

Pre-contest it’s really complicated… everything is planned 2 weeks in advance. Off-season it’s more simple… I take easily 1 to 2 days off training a week. I workout bodyparts once a week, except chest or back I will nail it two times. Legs I try to hit them only every 10 days for now. My trainings change alot… so I can’t give a precised example of what I do.

What is your diet when trying to get in peak condition?

Meal 1.
8 oz extra lean ground beef
8 egg whites
1-cup oats

Meal 2.
10 oz tilapia
2 cups rice

Meal 3.
10 oz tilapia
10 oz sweet potato

Meal 4.
10 oz tilapia
1-cup rice

Meal 5.
10 oz tilapia
veggies
50g whey shake (before bed)
50g whey shake + 20g carbs (post workout)

How do you deal with cravings for junk foods,
sweets and salty food?

Pre-contest I just remind myself that I have to win…. And I also tell myself… what feels better.. the taste of that bag of chips that will last me 5 minutes… of the taste of VICTORY that will last forever?
